Diabetes
is a disease which attacks every organ system in the human body.
16 million people in the U.S. alone have the disease. Worldwide,
it affects 120 million people as of now, and is projected to affect
300 million people by 2025. A new case of diabetes is diagnosed
ever 40 seconds. Every three minutes, a person dies from the disease.
Insulin is not a cure... research is.
We
chose to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
because
one of the cast members of Alias, Victor Garber, was diagnosed
with juvenile diabetes at the age of 12.
